Basketball
Summer Basketball Sign-Ups are being held.
Baseball
Jimmy Jones, Baseball Coordinator reported that things are going very well. Coach’s certifications are all in. Coaches will be reimbursed for the certification fee. Umpire fees have been paid to the coaches. Schedules all seem good. There has been some bad weather which will result in some reschedules. Pictures are scheduled for May 20, 2012 at the Field house and coaches are being given the order forms.
Softball
Tina Longacre, Softball Coordinator reported the season has just started.
Football
John Turnbull reported that the April meeting of the WCMFL was cancelled. The League will be looking at numbers for this year. Sign-ups will be starting next week. Frank Stettner, Football Coordinator has the fliers ready to go out to the school. Registration fees will be due at the time of signing up. Jimmy Jones stated that he’s heard that there is a possibility of no coaches being allowed on the field at the Pee Wee level. John said that it is something that the League is looking into. Right now, there are coaches getting in the way of the plays and they may ask that only one coach be on the field.
Cheerleading
Sign-ups have been held. There are still girls signing up. If anyone is interested in signing up, they may contact Lisa Miller, Cheering Coordinator.
Committee Reports
Banquet
The Banquet will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Flynn’s. If anyone is interested in helping with the banquet, please see Tina Longacre. Brandon Hull will be asked to attend as a guest speaker. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. We are looking for nominees for our Hall of Fame. If you would like to nominate someone, please see a Board Member. The Hall of Fame plaque needs to be updated.
Uniforms
Ann Davis reported that there are still quite a few basketball uniforms still out. Coaches need to be collecting them and returning them ASAP. Uniforms may be turned in at the concession stand, when it is open. Frank Stettner suggested that perhaps uniforms should not be distributed unless the registration fee has been paid. Carrie Conrad made a motion with a second from Pat Sharpe. The board will look into adopting this policy.
Fundraising
Carrie Conrad reported that a supplemental fundraiser was held. Steele Hill raffled off an iPad. Pat Sharpe picked the winning ticket at the meeting. Congratulations to Lisa Piccione on winning the iPad. We hope she enjoys it!
The baseball/softball fundraisers are due on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Jimmy Jones asked if there could be an extension. He felt more time was needed to sell items. Carrie stated that most fundraisers were handed out early enough to allow for a three week sell time. There could be an extension of a few days but ideally, everything should be turned in no later than Wednesday, May 9, 2012 to allow for all coupons to be distributed to the purchasers in a reasonable time.
Carrie also mentioned that there were some questions regarding the letter that went along with the fundraiser. Both Carrie’s and Keith Gargone’s contact information was included in the letter. If anyone has questions, please direct questions directly to Carrie or Keith.
Good and Welfare
Ole Towne Festival is approaching and Steele Hill will once again be participating. The event will be held the weekend of July 21, 2012. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact Tina Longacre.
